As heard on Fool’s Gold Radio (and everywhere else A-Trak has been DJing this summer), the Trizzy-enhanced version of the Rapture’s gospel stomper “How Deep Is Your Love” is out now on iTunes, Beatport and everywhere else fine digital music is sold.

Some words from A-Trak…
How can I imagine life without Mehdi? It’s a question I never thought I would have to ask myself. Mehdi was without a doubt like a brother to me, a friend well beyond our music ties, a kindred spirit and someone who played an irreplaceable and constant role in my life. In the days since his passing I’ve been reflecting a lot on our friendship and felt the need to write down my thoughts. Here goes. Read More

From Dave1’s Facebook post…
I wrote this text on the plane back from Paris a couple of days ago. I first intended it to be a series of personal notes: an attempt to retrace the chronology of our friendship with Mehdi. Then I figured I’d share it. It’s long and perhaps too full of factoids. But that’s how Mehdi, ever the raconteur, like his stories: starting “ab ovo” (from the very beginning, the origins) and rife with trivia. So here it is, my own personal Mehdipedia entry… Read More

Last week we threw our second annual DAY OFF party in New York City, joined by a few thousand of our friends. Like the last one, only bigger and crazier, it was an amazing day and night, featuring performances from Juicy J, Danny Brown, the Brothers Macklovitch (A-Trak and Dave1), Just Blaze, Cubic Zirconia, Party Supplies, Nick Catchdubs and very special guests ASAP Rocky and DJ Mehdi.
Tons of good folks were there to capture the party: Complex put together the official recap video above, and we’ve also got more footage after the jump along with some photo favorites. Be sure to check the full galleries and coverage from Mel D Cole (one, two, three), KirillWasHere, Brook Bobbins (one, two), Stereogum, LTD, Bongo Boy, HiFi Cartel, 24 Hr Party People (party + afterparty), Jungle Gym, TechieNYC (one, two, three, four), Podgeopedia, Shea Whitey, Brock Fetch (scroll down), Billboard, Miss Info, CMJ, Paper Magazine, Mister Mort with the fashion favorites and Village Voice with the play-by-play (TMZ even got in on the action with Chromeo). Thanks again to all friends and party people, the City Winery crew and our production team at Cake Or Death, and our sponsors Adidas, Scion and Bushmills. See you again next year… Read More

A ton of y’all tweeted cameraphone pics of this to us throughout the weekend, but here’s a full size scan of Danny Brown, A-Trak and Party Supplies in the New York Times’ fall fashion mag, sporting some quilted menswear (hence the “Diamond Dogs” headline, that’s how print media works!) and looking tuff in A1 Records. Click the pic for a full-size version, and read the whole mag here.

The thousands of people who attended our Day Off party last year (or saw the footage immortalized in Duck Sauce’s smash “Barbra Streisand” video) spent an afternoon living it up with the country’s most fun MCs and DJs, eating hamburgers in one hand and catching a crowd-surfing Yelawolf in the other. For this year’s Day Off, the vibes will once again be handled by true good-time professionals: Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia, with his first NYC show since releasing the underground favorite Rubba Band Business mixtapes, critically acclaimed Fool’s Gold rapper Danny Brown, multiplatinum producer and club king Just Blaze, the Brothers Macklovitch (aka superstar sibling DJ team A-Trak and Dave 1 of Chromeo), drum machine wizards Araabmuzik and Party Supplies, FG future funk trio Cubic Zirconia, and label co-founder / party rocker extraordinaire Nick Catchdubs, along with some very special guests… Read More
