Our bros Craze and Four Color Zack got something to say! Their new 2¢ megamix takes a stand against fakers, perpetrators, button-pushers, “DJ list” cornballs and finesse-deficient individuals everywhere! But this is no polemic: 2¢ is a fun listen throughout, packed with hype bits, inside jokes, and tons of wicky wicky wicky. Download it now, peep FCZ’s Slap It Down EP with DJ Scene for more jams (cop some #REALDJING merch from us while you’re at it!) and catch Craze tonight at Verboten in Brooklyn with The Rub, DJ Wonder and Sammy Bananas for all your weekend party needs. Get tix here!
For our annual FG x LTD+ holiday bash, we skipped the North Pole and went straight to Chiraq, flying Young Chop and friends to Westway to rock a set of high-grade turn-uppables. 100s was also in the building, hosting (and performing “1999” and “My Activator”) in a very festive head-to-toe red ensemble, and NYC’s finest Nick Catchdubs, Ni– Sky and DJ Wonder held down the 1s and 2s all night. Watch the official recap vid above and stay tuned for the next Fool’s Gold event very soon…
It’s that time of year again… the annual Fool’s Gold x LTD+ Holiday Party is back! It’s going down next Thursday, 12/19 in NYC, RSVP at foolsgoldrecs.com/holiday for details. One of our favorite producers Young Chop (Chief Keef, French Montana, etc) will be DJing alongside Nick Catchdubs, Ni– Sky and DJ Wonder, the one and only 100s will be holding down hosting duties along with Chicago’s Johnny May Cash, special guests are on deck, you know how we do it! RSVP now and we’ll see you there.
We’re offering a fresh sacrifice to our golden overlords in the form of the new FG “Death Metal” tee, featuring an über-spooky new Goldbar graphic by Australian illustrator James Jirat Patradoon. Go grab it from the Fool’s Gold webstore and our retail shop on 536 Metropolitan Ave in Brooklyn.
DJ Wonder’sBelief In The Occult EP is that shirt in musical form, a five-track ouija wild-out session from the Shade45 selector. Built on screwed breakbeats and metal samples, eerie synths and murda murda mo murda, it’s perfect for your halloween sets or any other creeping activities. Grab the free download on the FG Soundcloud and cut something!
Once again, the talk of the town for Labor Day weekend in NYC is our annual, free DAY OFF bash, going down this Monday, September 3rd at the City Winery Backyard. This all-ages downtown staple features a who’s who of party heroes from the label’s friends and family: French Montana, Danny Brown, Brothers Macklovitch, Just Blaze, Flosstradamus, Flatbush Zombies and many more impossible-to-miss acts.
FG keeps the party going with the NIGHT OFF afterparty a few blocks over at Westway, featuring DJ sets from Brenmar, Anna Lunoe and DJ Wonder, hosted by Donnis! Read More
Check out this Shade45 video, where Donnis goes off the dome while DJ Wonder plays the beats (Smoothe Da Hustler “Broken Language,” TNGHT “Goooo,” Carte Blanche “Gare Du Nord,” and then two we can’t identify… rap fail!)
Telephoned is DJ/producer Sammy Bananas and singer Maggie Horn, a dynamic duo specializing in unique covers, unexpected pop jams and general good times. Switchboard sees the group turning that vibe into a monthly NYC party with remix and remake-heavy sets from their friends and fam (and themselves, of course), featuring everything from The Suzan gleefully bashing away on a Miike Snow song to Nick Catchdubs dropping a set of ’80s-jacking Bad Boy hits.
You don’t want to miss out this Tuesday (April 17th), when Telephoned celebrates the party’s one year anniversary at Drom on Avenue A. They’ll be performing alongside Mattie Safer and Party Supplies, while Nick Catchdubs, Autobot of Flosstradamus, DJ Wonder and Musa throw down DJ sets. The night is also a fundraiser for CCFA, an Crohns and colitis research organization that Maggie will be running a half marathon for this summer (more information and links to donate here). Good tunes, good cause… we’ll see you there! Check the full flyer after the jump. Read More
