A-Trak and Lee Foss teamed up last Fall for an earthy, spiritual house jam. Originally an interpolation of a Goodie Mob classic, the song was blessed by a beautiful vocal performance by LA’s own Uncle Chucc, who sadly passed away this year. With the blessings of Chucc’s 1500 Or Nothin family, Trizzy and Lee are releasing a few remixes. Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn, a frequent collaborator of both DJs with releases on Defected and Club Sweat, turns in an anthemic rendition. Let’s keep Chucc’s vocals resonating this year! Listen now.

New York DJ/producer Thando1988 was raised on club classics, giving him an appreciation for 70s-80s soul beyond his years. On “Never Stop”, his second Fool’s Gold release, he teams up with 90s R&B legend Chantay Savage for an uplifting, timeless jam with soulful pianos and a soaring vocal performance.  On the remix, Thando1988 links with UK legend Seamus Haji, whose 2004 cover of “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” reached #1 on the UK Dance Chart. Saturday Love – 2 B Free (Baltra Remix)

Saturday Love’s timeless disco anthem “2 B Free” is remix catnip, and all three contenders knocked this one out of the park. The piano-soaked collaboration between Boston beatsmith Kon and New York vocalist Fiorious gets masterfully reinvented by heavyweight Oliver Dollar, recent favorite Baltra and up-and-comer AJ Christou. A-Trak Bubble Guts (Braxe + Falcon Extended Remix)

This is the stuff DJ dreams are made of. When A-Trak released his 10 Seconds Vol. 1 EP, a project made entirely on the SP1200 drum machine, French legends Alan Braxe and DJ Falcon were immediately drawn to it. Of course those two are no strangers to that sampler. The Daft Punk and Stardust affiliates made many of their early-2000s classics on the SP. Braxe + Falcon were in the middle of releasing their own (fantastic) collaborative project, too. A conversation started, stems were exchanged, and within a few days this incredibly funky remix landed in Trizzy’s inbox. The French Touch is alive and well!
