We dropped the excellent Afrojack remix of Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say” earlier this month, and are as just as excited to gift you with another official, FG-commissioned mix of the tune today. It comes courtesy of DC ravemasters Nadastrom, who turned the track into a stripped down, dark and deep club monster – download, play it out and enjoy!
More “Make Her Say” mixes are in the chamber so stay tuned for surprises! Relatedly: you can also grab some remixes of Cudi’s collab with NORE “Floatin In The Sky” over at Media Contender, thanks to our homies at Undocumented.
Update: zShare’s acting a fool so here’s a new zip with the Nadastrom and Afrojack mixes.
A few weeks ago, Fool’s Gold was asked to commission remixes for Kid Cudi’s latest single “Make Her Say.” Well, broskis – the results were pretty damn banging!
Details on the full batch of mixes (and where / when we’ll be leaking them) to follow, meanwhile dig into this awesome, instantly playable remix by Afrojack, who’s Dutch house bangers (and some major co-productions) are currently lighting up DJ sets worldwide.
As previously mentioned, a bunch of the Fool’s Gold fam will be in Chicago for Lollapalooza in a matter of days. We’re happy to note that Nick Catchdubs will be joining A-Trak, LA Riots, Kid Cudi and more bros + associates on the DJ stage, as well as performing at the August 7th Imeem afterparty at Sonotheque along with Trizzy and Treasure Fingers. The flyer is above, and it’s FREE with RSVP – don’t slack!
We definitely believe in the power of smart partnerships and teamwork over at FG HQ, which is probably why one of our earliest outside supporters was fellow start-up RCRD LBL, who built their whole site around supporting artists and presenting great selections of free, authorized new music.
We’ve done free downloads and track debuts with RCRD LBL for almost as long as we’ve been a label ourselves, and this Tuesday (7.14) we’re linking up with them yet again for the 1st RCRD LBL “Friends & Family Meet Up” from 7-10pm at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC. Reps from the family of labels involved on the site (Fool’s Gold, Ghostly, Warp, etc) will be premiering tons of brand new and unreleased music – and generally just kicking it – so come through and start your evening with us!
To get you psyched, hit the jump to download ALL of the free Fool’s Gold music available on RCRD LBL – tracks, remixes (our own as well as jams our artists have crafted for others), mixtapes and more. Over 50 tracks! Read More
Check out these Kid Cudi 4th of July freestyles from the always-entertaining Tim Westwood radio show, including some off-the-head bars over Hard House Banton’s UK funky anthem “Sirens” (and some Jada and Red Cafe for good measure). Check back here for news on some new FG-commissioned Cudi remixes coming very soon – and no, they’re not for “Day ‘N’ Nite”…
Over on DJ Mehdi’s excellent blog, when he’s not shouting out Compton’s Most Wanted, Wu samples and his favorite international deejays, he’s posting up gems from his “vault” of unfinished and unreleased remixes. The newest websclusive is this remix of Crookers and Kid Cudi’s “Embrace The Martian” that was never quite finalized but still jams. Enjoy, and stay tuned for the Fool’s Gold Crookers EP this remix was first intended for, featuring new mixes of “Embrace…” by Seiji, DJ Gant-Man’s take on “Knobbers” and the finished version of “What Up Y’all” with Izza Kizza vox. Out soon! And while you’re staying tuned, Mehdi’s RED BLACK AND BLUE: Some Remixes By DJ Mehdi is out 9/9/09 on Ed Banger.
If you’ve been out to check OG “house gangster” DJ Sneak at the clurrrb any time this past year, you probably noticed a thumping new mix of “Day ‘N’ Nite” bumping out of the speakers. Well, turns out it’s Sneak’s personal creation, and we’re happy to share it with y’all today.
Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say” (aka “I Poke Her Face”) is officially out on iTunes in properly mixed + mastered format, and you can purchase by clicking the lil iTunes widget. Dust La Rock on the type treatment!
At the Wale show at LPR in New York City last night, Kid Cudi droped by to say what up – so of course, Mr Folarin’s backing band UCB took the opportunity to coat “Day ‘N’ Nite” with tons of mumbo sauce in their impromptu live go-go version.
The Crookers remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” won Best Indie Dance/Nu Disco Track and A-Trak’s remix of Boys Noize’s “Oh” won Best Electro House Track in the 2009 Beatport Music Awards. Next year we’re gunnin for that Best Psy Trance!
