All summer Jelly NYC has been throwing their free Pool Parties down at East River Park in Williamsburg. On Sunday, August 22nd we’re proud to present an all-FG takeover, which we’re proudly dubbing Pool’s Gold, because, well, why the hell not?
Get their early to stake your claim in front of the stage for the supa sounds of Chromeo, Kid Sister, The Suzan and Telephoned, with deejay sets by Treasure Fingers and Kingdom keeping it moving all day long. Then we head over to Brooklyn Bowl for an afterparty with Nick Catchdubs and Vin Sol on beat duties. See you there!
As you may have seen on P4K, Kid Sister has a new video! The clip is for Ultraviolet jam “Big N Bad” and comes courtesy of our friend Rik Cordero, who shot it on location in Chicago. Cameos by A-Trak, Flosstradamus, and hot dogs.
Not enough Kid Sis on your television? Her song “Daydreaming” was selected to soundtrack the new national ad campaign for Bud Light Lime, kicking off this month and running through 2011. Want her in person? Check the upcoming tour dates, including an 8/22 Fool’s Gold spectacular at the Jelly Pool Party in BK.
And it doesn’t stop there! All her recent collabs, along with Ultraviolet remixes, fresh freestyles and more will be collected on KoKo’s Revenge, a new mixtape coming very soon. Get psyched…
Check out the newly released Jersey Shore soundtrack album for Kid Sister’s “Lookout Weekend,” a cover of Debbie Deb’s freestyle classic produced by Nadastrom and guest-starring Nina Sky. The album also contains fist pumpers from our friends Diplo, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, and… well it’s hard to concentrate when it takes soooo much self control not to flip this with Kid Sis, the Nadastroms and the NS twins into the most epic Photoshop face swap of all time. Dream big!
Bonus beat: check Nadastrom’s new Mixpak podcast for more Fool’s Gold action, including a clever Congorock edit and a preview of Dave Nada’s forthcoming LA Riots remix.
Kid Sis, Paul Wall, and Bun B make for one of the more unlikely team-ups in rap, but they all come together (and rip it!) on “Im’ma Get It,” a Travis Barker-produced cut off Paul’s new LP, Heart Of A Champion, out today. One for your trunk!
In the midst of their Scion Radio tour supporting the just-released Black Billionaires EP, our friends Mehdi and Riton of Carte Blanche dropped into Webster Hall in NYC for a solo date, and brought along our own Kid Sister to rock their collab “Do! Do! Do!” live for the kids. Check Nicky Digital’s vid above, and pics from the night here.
Carte Blanche = DJ Mehdi + Riton innna house music stylee. We’ve mentioned them on these blog pages before and now you can buy their Black Billionaires EP on Beatport, iTunes, and all other digital retailers.
All the songs are reliably knocking, but Kid Sister collab “Do! Do! Do!” is the sureshot. (Duh!) Preview that and more on this Carte Blanche “House Party Mix.”
KS just filmed a brand-new video for “Big ‘N’ Bad” in Chicago with noted rap lensman Rik Cordero, who put together this behind the scenes look at the shoot. Stay tuned for the finished project, which features heavy roller rink action… and a Le Baron! Word to Tom Green.
Check the info here for Billabong’s upcoming Design For Humanity benefit, featuring Kid Sister, Fischerspooner, Classixx, Pase Rock and Them Jeans. 100% of this year’s ticket sales and proceeds from art show and product collaboration auction sales are being donated to Invisible Children, an organization raising awareness and funds for families affected by the long-standing war in Uganda, Africa.
Kid Sis covers Extreme’s “More Than Words” (with pal Kerin Rose on backup) for Billboard.com’s new series. Peep it! And check KS in Australia this week.
