Fool's Gold Compilation LP Out 10/25!

Posted on Oct 13th, 2010

As you may have seen on Pitchfork today, our first-ever compilation LP, Fool’s Gold Vol 1 is making its way to you fine people of planet Earth on October 25th (same day as The Suzan LP – they both got bumped to Monday cause of Taylor Swift. Good looking out ma!)

The 14 new tracks on Fool’s Gold Vol 1 are a 3-D look at where FG has been and where we’re going next. “Ray Ban Vision,” A-Trak’s robot-rocking collab with G.O.O.D. Music upstart CyHi Da Prynce, sits comfortably next to Treasure Fingers’ joyous dance pop throwback “Keep Up” and The Suzan’s rollicking cover of Miike Snow’s “Animal,” along with new tracks from other exciting, constantly-evolving talents like Kingdom, Flosstradamus, and even Lil B, who teases his forthcoming EP with the #based bass of “Freeze.”

You will be able to download Vol 1 from all fine music retailers, as well as purchase a limited-edition CD copy (and other FG treats) at Opening Ceremony boutiques worldwide. We are immensely proud to share these new tracks from our family with all of you!

Thanks to all the radio homies dropping Fool’s Gold this past week! Jaymo and Andy George dropped the Hot City remix of K.L.A.M.’s “Funky 4” and the Mowgli remix of LA Riots’ “Bombah” while sitting in for Pete Tong, Annie Mac threw down that “Funky 4” mix along with “Barbra Streisand” on her most recent show, and Count and Sinden rinsed Hot City/K.L.A.M. as well on their new Essential Mix. Big up, gunshot, forward!

Grab the K.L.A.M. and LA Riots singles (and all the great remixes) on Beatport now.

U Street Fools

Posted on Aug 19th, 2010

You’ve already seen us shouting out U Street Music Hall, the new club opened earlier this year in Washington DC by our pal Tittsworth and friends. But this week we have even more reason to big them up, since FG’s Kingdom and LA Riots will be playing there tonight (free with Facebook RSVP) and Saturday, respectively. Capitol critters, don’t miss out!

LA Riots "The Drop" Out Now!

Posted on Aug 17th, 2010

LA Riots’ debut single “The Drop” is out today on Beatport!

“The Drop” is the first official original from the Riots, mixing new musical experimentation with years of road-tested club confidence. Endlessly kinky riffs and jacking kickdrums have already made it a festival favorite, and it comes backed by two mindbending remixes from Duke Dumont and a stomping four-on-the-floor take from TJR. B-side “Bombah” is a planet rock party starter, flipped by Deadfish don Mowgli and Nadastrom’s Dave Nada. Yet even with such a dynamic remix lineup it’s all about the original tunes, setting the stage for many more LA Riots firestarters to come!

If you missed them the first time around, be sure to download these past LA Riots Foolcast mixes: Fall 09, Spring 10, Summer 10. Hit the jump for Dust La Rock’s “The Drop” sleeve art, which inspired the promo vid above. Read More
