Slow Roast is the new, FG-distributed label from our homies Kill The Noise and Craze. The dynamic duo (and friends) have cooked up some heavy choons for you guys over the past few months, and they’ll start dropping very, very soon. To whet your appetite, they launched their inaugural “Hogcast” series with a minimix from Craze, an extended mix from KTN, a bunch of interview stuff, and more.
Download Hogcast #1 at Media Contender, and read a Q&A with Craze about the label’s origins while you’re at it. If you’re in Austin this week, be sure to come rock out at Slow Roast’s first ever SXSW party (3-8pm on Friday 3/19 @ Barcelona), featuring sets from the label’s founders, friends like 12th Planet, Star Eyes, and our own Nick Catchdubs, and more. Flyer after the jump! Read More
Head over to The Fader blog for the premier of The Suzan’s “Home,” produced by Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John. We’ll be dropping it on a limited-edition 7″ later this spring, and it will also appear on the Suzan’s full-length Fool’s Gold album this summer. “Cool joy” pretty much sums it up!
Greenmoney sent over this new podcast promo-ing their upcoming party at Plan B in Brixton this Saturday. Their pals Seiji and Redlight are among the guests, so it’s only natural they contribute sections of the mix as well! Download and check the tracklist here.
Hit The Fader blog for Jokers Of The Scene’s sprawling remix of Boy 8-Bit’s already-sprawling “Wolfen.” Get set for JOTS forthcoming Fool’s Gold single, where Mr 8-Bit returns the favor! And check him on a North American tour with Fake Blood, kicking off this Tuesday with our Calgary homies at Hi-Fi. Full dates after the jump. Read More
Spooky siblings Dust La Rock and Star Eyes recently delved into the deepest recesses of their respective record libraries to whip up this new Ov Cvrse mix for Mishka. It’s a collection of everything from Ministry, Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb to Black Strobe, Adult and even Benga and Skream’s coldest moments. And it is awesome!
The mix came out so well, in fact, that Mishka decided to keep the name for their SXSW showcase of icy synths and “-wave” suffixes. More info on that show (which includes a set from our own Jokers Of The Scene) here. Tracklist for the Ov Curse mix after the jump. Read More
Check out Craze’s contribution to Mishka’s “Keep Watch” series, featuring a lot of new and unreleased music from the folks you know and love: A-Trak’s forthcoming Tiga remix, Congorock’s “Babylon,” and a grip of soon-to-drop exclusives from his FG-distributed Slow Roast label with Kill The Noise. A bounty of bass! Go download now.
Go and download this great “warmup” mix from Andrew Ross of Nacho Lovers for Old Gold Boutique. Says Andrew, “basically an early night club warm-up mix. start your night off right. none of that womp womp womp womp…not in my house.” Indeed!
