Sammy Bananas has been keeping Fool’s Gold funky since the label first began. Yet all his smash bootlegs, remixes and original jams (both as a solo artist and as one half of FG duos Fifteenth and Telephoned) were merely setting the stage for the brand new Flexin’ EP, a back-to-the-future blast of house, disco and R&B vibes blended together as only one Banana man can. It’s a master class in party music from a scholar of New Jack Swing.
As if these hybrid cuts weren’t fun enough on their own, we’ve pressed Flexin’ onto limited-edition colored vinyl, complete with mustachioed “Mr. Flex” cutout figure (designed by RAZAUNO) for maximum DIY dance party action. Sammy Bananas is in the house, literally in your house. Peep some action shots of Mr. Flex with A-Trak, Chromeo and more after the jump…
Preorder the vinyl now and we’ll send you mp3s of the EP as an early-bird bonus. Members of our drip.fm subscription service THE GOLDMINE get the release immediately as well (WAVs too, if that’s yer thing.) Come party with us on Wednesday, January 15th at the Flexin’ NYC release party at The 303 with tunes by Sammy, Nick Catchdubs and DJ Lindsey.

For our annual FG x LTD+ holiday bash, we skipped the North Pole and went straight to Chiraq, flying Young Chop and friends to Westway to rock a set of high-grade turn-uppables. 100s was also in the building, hosting (and performing “1999″ and “My Activator”) in a very festive head-to-toe red ensemble, and NYC’s finest Nick Catchdubs, Ni– Sky and DJ Wonder held down the 1s and 2s all night. Watch the official recap vid above and stay tuned for the next Fool’s Gold event very soon…

What happens when actor / entertainer / dionysian life coach Fabrizio Goldstein (aka The Fat Jew) puts his buttery touch on Party Supplies’ anthemic “Working Out”? A gleefully obscene epic about life, love, and jail that somehow finds emotional truth in absurd, wildly immature toilet humor. You’ll get a little verklempt.
Party Supplies’ acclaimed debut LP Tough Love (a Pitchfork favorite and one of Rolling Stone’s Best Dance Albums Of 2013) will be re-released on vinyl and CD this spring with bonus remixes by The Knocks, Lazerdisk and more. Meanwhile, the prolific Brooklyn duo continue to drop newly recorded tracks and demos on their Soundcloud and will be taking the stage at Irving Plaza this Friday (1/10) and Saturday (1/11) to perform tracks from their hit Blue Chips mixtapes with Action Bronson. MySpace just posted a new episode of 5 Minutes To The Stage featuring Danny Brown going through his backstage rituals (Henny, weed, SKYWLKR blasting Young Thug, etc) before taking the Terminal 5 stage in NYC opening for Sleigh Bells. Watch it, then download Nick Catchdubs’ Brown Bells blends for even more Danny x SB action.
