Sunday’s looking like the jumpoff…

Last week our dudes Andrew and Scott, better known as Nacho Lovers, got their first ever profile in Toronto’s Eye Weekly. Check it out, and check for their remix of Jokers of the Scene’s “Yall Know The Name” out on Fool’s Gold verrrrrrrrrrry soon!

Mack Mittens and Ms. Sister share a chuckle about tight jeans
Imagine Allen Iverson running up the Rocky art museum steps wearing Will Smith’s Speed Racer shirt from the “Summertime” video, multiply it by a million and this will still be more awesome-er…
This Saturday night (Jan 19th) Kid Sister and A-Trak hit Philadelphia to open for Akon, Freeway and Beanie Sigel – yes, you read that correctly – at Solo Nightclub (tickets here), followed by an afterparty at Transit with Nick Catchdubs alongside Philly’s own Brendan Bring’em, Dirty South Joe, and DJ Sega. Check our big homie GLC’s latest clip, featuring a ton of Chi-town cameos.

Jokers of the Scene invade Toronto once again for the latest edition of the “Squares Stay Home” party at Wrongbar (1279 Queen St. W.) this Saturday, Jan 19th. They’re bringing the Mad Decent homie Paul Devro with them, as well as Fistfight Andrew of Nacho Lovers. The above flyer is entirely accurate, BTW.

“OK… (take a breath) Everyone who is poor and who doesn’t have a DUI on their record best ta LISTEN UP! Every last one of y’all should know about and participate IN car sharing! It’s the best thing that’s ever happened ever in life. Instead of lugging all your heavy laundry around town through snow drifts in sub zero weather in a 90 year old babushka lady cart you can now DRIVE it to the laundromat in record time and have time left over to shop or eat or drive to your man’s house across town! No more bus stops! No more frostbite! No more devonte!!! YAY!”
Check Chicago’s sweetheart bigging up car sharing over on the MuchMusic Blog. More Canadian KS action from her recent shows in these photos and this EYE Weekly interview. The JOTS dudes promise some video from the shows soon…

Even more Canada! Summer Lovers Unlimited just released Dandi Wind’s Sacrificial album as a limited digipack, containing remixes by Fool’s Gold-ians Nick Catchdubs and Jokers of the Scene, as well as joints from Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya, South Central and more. You can purchase the whole LP on the DW MySpace for five buckaroos, and listen to the Catchdini take on “Adolescent” here.

Jokers of the Scene’s remix for their electro-pop pals Vitamins For You’s “Flesh Python” (GROSS TITLE DOODZ!) just hit the internets, you can download it here and purchase on limited-edition vinyl here. It is rumored to be the last-ever record pressed in Canada! Stay tuned for more JOTS remixes for the likes of Muscles, South Rakkas Crew, SLUTT and our own Kid Cudi.

This weekend Fool’s Gold forces combine to eat Toronto and Ottawa alive. On Friday (Jan 11th) check Kid Sister and Jokers of the Scene at Wrongbar in Toronto, then on Saturday (Jan 12) see them again – with added Nacho Lovers! – at Barrymores in Ottawa (the Ottawa Sun is psyched, you should be too!) Flyers after the jump. Read More

Our dudes (The) Count (of Monte Cristal) and Sinden officially announced their signing to Domino Records, which is a nicely timed follow-up to their Essential Mix for BBC’s Radio 1, which aired this past weekend. Here’s the mix (up until the end of the week) and here’s the tracklist. It’s all gone Pete Tong! Kid Sister pops up all over the mix, including her own joints “Pro Nails” and “Switch Board,” her forthcoming collaboration with Pase Rock and Tittsworth called “WTF,” and her guest appearance on Count and Sinden’s first single, “Beeper,” which hits stores on March 16th.
