Throwback WMC snappy snaps!
Check our brothers in bass Alex and Eli filling in for Mark Ronson’s Authentic Sh!t program this past Friday and dropping hella exclusives (including a preview of the Nacho Lovers 12″ out on Fool’s Gold later this spring). Grab the mp3 and the tracklist right here.

I’m about to board a flight to Australia, where I’ll be performing at the Good Vibrations festival in 4 cities, both as A-Trak & Kid Sister and with Kanyeezy. I think it’s my 8th or 9th time in Australia. I’ve been there more than France, for some reason. Read More

UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ? VROOOO VROOOOO? CHHHHK wiggledywiggldy CKKKKKKKKKKKRRRRKKKKK?!?!? Yep, they got all that and more. Our dudes in MSTRKRFT are hitting the road with Fool’s Gold’s own LA Riots and distorto disco brothers in arms the Bloody Beetroots and Lazaro Casanova. The trek kicks off on 2/26 in Seattle and goes all the way through SXSW and the Winter Music Conference in March. Some stops on the tour will be MSTRKRFT-only affairs (take that, vowels!) but to help you out with your revelry plans, we copied and pasted all the LA Riots dates after the jump. BAM! Read More

Like we mentioned earlier, indie club hit “Beeper” is getting re-released as the lead single for Count and Sinden’s album on Domino Records, complete with new verses from Kid Sister, not to mention Young Josh on hook duties. At around 4am last night (erm…this morning?) shooting wrapped for the “Beeper” video in Chicago, directed by tite bros Joey Garfield and Joey Patel for Ghost Robot. We’ll have some YouTubes from the set soon, so stay tuned for footage of DJ Autobot rocking a fierce Bluetooth headset, hot dogs, lots and lotsa juking, and a certain someone (currently writing this blog post) cameo-ing as a record store clerk…

It’s a complete coincidence that Kid Sister and I were booked to perform at New York and LA’s Museums of Natural History on consecutive weekends. The events were unrelated, we’re not on a museum tour or anything.
Both turned out to be awesome in their own way. You already saw what the New York one was like last week… Kiiiinda crazy, with the surprise appearance of a fur-clad Kanyeezy. That one was in the planetarium, so it was very much a multi-media themed room. The LA show this weekend was a lot more like what you’d expect to see in a museum of natural history: a giant dinosaur skeleton when you walk in and a bunch of displays of impeccably preserved yaks, bisons, sea lions (those things are big!) and other cuddly creatures in simulated home habitat backdrops. How many times did I yell “stegosaurus!” on the mic during my set? One may never know. Read More

This morning I had to wake up at 6am to go to the airport. In the car I was thinking of the expression “the bane of my existence” and wondered if bane is one of those words that you only find in a specific expression. I’ve never heard the word bane elsewhere. So I looked up the definition on my phone. As it turns out you can also say “the bane of my life”, and bane can be used in other sentences. It means death or ruin. I also learned that there are poison names like wolfsbane that follow the model:
(something poopy)bane.
Fast-forward many hours later. I’m in LA getting ready for my show and somehow the Australian city Brisbane pops in my head. And then I think, could Brisbane mean death by bris, i.e. circumcision? An operation gone wrong?

LA Riots, the latest addition to the Fool’s Gold family, just dropped a new promo mix featuring some of their latest favorites, including their remix of Heartsrevolution’s “Switchblade” and their labelmate A-Trak’s take on Count and Sinden’s “Beeper.” Download it and get the tracklisting after the jump, and check for more LA Riots updates (including their US tour and upcoming mix CD on Thrive Records) on this lil blog right here. Flavorpill, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan, Nicky Digital (with video too!), Metromix…we’re still trying to collect as many shots from this past weekend’s Natural History fun explosion (the Roc was in the building!) as possible, so post any links we missed in the comments. Video coming soon! Check A-Trak and Kid Sister take their museum mayhem to Los Angeles tonight (2/1).

This Friday (2/1) new Fool’s Gold signing Treasure Fingers will be DJing at Hugs in Brooklyn (108 North 6th St between Berry and Wythe). It’s free and there will be complimentary Bushmills from 10-11. Big things for this dude in 2008, so get on board early! Treasure Fingers’ debut Fool’s Gold 12″ “Cross The Dancefloor” will be out shortly, backed by some very major remixes – you can hear the original on his recent mix for In-Deed on XM, tracklist and download link (and flyer for Friday) after the jump.
