A-Trak’s “Ride For Me” is already one of the craziest collabs in FG history, mixing Trizzy’s skills with Falcons’ beats, Young Thug’s bars and 24Hrs’ melodies from the matrix. Throw in insane vintage ’90s skate footage from Zoo York legend Eli Morgan Gesner and “Ride For Me” goes even harder. See how it all came together from a 20+ year friendship after the jump. Read More
A-Trak and Young Thug have been recording together since 2013 and accumulating a stack of songs. Finally ready to start revealing this material, A-Trak chose “Ride For Me” for its jaw-dropping (and possibly jaw-breaking) vocal performance. You’ve never heard Young Thug like this. His voice is elastic, self-distorted, at times barely human or intelligible, and at other times familiar and bouncy. As a turntablist and sound manipulator, A-Trak was entranced by Thug’s shape-shifting. To round off the song, Trizzy brought in another close friend with an otherworldly voice, Atlanta’s own 24hrs, along with rising Fool’s Gold star Falcons on the production tip. “Ride For Me” is a speaker-busting rollercoaster ride that defies traditional song structure and will playlist your whole year. Falcons’s new joint “Nonsense” features frequent collaborator and friend KingJet (one half of production duo Two Fresh) and showcases the LA producer’s impressive versatility with a dark, innovative bounce. Following up the futuristic r&b of “Boo You Know” feat. GoldLink and the rave-inspired summer hit “Want Your Body” (part of an impressive catalog that’s already clocked over 28 million cumulative streams), “Nonsense” proves there’s no sound Falcons can’t conquer. Breakout LA producer Falcons shares his new track “Boo You Know” featuring GoldLink today via Fool’s Gold. The thunderous track touches on the hardships of maintaining healthy relationships while on the road via modern technology, but first and foremost showcases Falcons’ unparalleled artistry. With over 23 million cumulative streams to date and having already shared the stage with Travis Scott, Metro Boomin, Kaytranada and many others, he’s quickly solidifying his position as one of the most innovative and respected producers on the scene.
Whether reshaping LA’s dance scene for a new generation with his Athletixx crew, or delving into uncharted beat territory with solo tracks and remixes, California DJ/producer Falcons is a force to be reckoned with. Terra, his debut Fool’s Gold EP, showcases four cuts of imaginative, bass-driven songwriting that highlight Falcons’ confidence as a producer and collaborator, all while detonating the party like nothing else. After drippy summer jam “Aquafina” sets a tone with rap upstarts GoldLink and Chaz French, Terra bounces from rolling ragga hybrid “Flame,” guest-starring UK heroine Stush to the moody title track (built on Falcons’ own chopped and screwed vocals), before closing out strong with post-hyphy bomb “Boss Mackin” featuring San Francisco’s A-1. Terra is club music as its most elemental. Dig in…
