We’ve had these up for pre-order for a minute, but our latest batch of tees are finally printed and ready to go! Designed as always by Dust La Rock, you can cop the following styles at www.foolsgoldrecs.com/store right now:
Come on down to Trophy Bar (which you might remember from the Chromeo/RE:UP party) this Friday for the inaugural edition of RECORD BREAKERS, starring yr hometown Fools Nick Catchdubs and Sammy Bananas.
I’m done with the tour! I decided to wait until the end to provide the wrap-up, but hopefully people will actually read this, because its kind of long! I’ll give a brief digest to start out so you know what your getting into:
– Summer of Sammy Tour = Serial Massacre i.e. Raging Success
– Cameos from Ayres, Alan and Eh’Life
– Run ins with border patrols, bikes and BEPs
– Triumphs of Celtics, Cesars and Cruisers – Chilling with Diamonds, Daniels and Debonairs
– A mix classic gets re-released, this time for free
I’m gonna start off by saying that the main (if only) reason that I’m writing this blog is so that Certified Max can read it. I’m gonna lay this bro-love right out there in the open; Max and I have had some amazing times DJing around North America and I thought of him on innumerable occasions on this run. Hopefully at least he will read the whole thing!
Sammy Bananas has two more dates left on his epic Summer Of Sammy trek, and promises a full tour diary as soon as he’s done, complete with tales of debauchery and Black Eyed Pea encounters (dude is a Kid Cudi fan, apparently!). Meanwhile, you can check Sammy in Chicago tonight (6.19) at Debonair Social Club and in Milwuakee on Saturday (6.21) at MOCT, and download the Summer Of Sammy mixtape if you haven’t already bowed down to it’s grandeur. “Rhythm Of The Night,” people!
We welcome Sammy Bananas to our list of blog contributors, as he checks in from his Brooklyn lair…
The Summer Solstice may be 10 days away, but as it was 99 degrees in NYC today I think we can safely say that the season has officially jumped off. And what better way to celebrate the start of summer than with…BANANAS! I’ll be traveling around over the next two weeks killing dancehalls in Vancouver, SF, LA, Chi and Milwaukee, and I made a mix for this Summer of Sammy tour. It features a heap of exclusive material, including the 4 tracks from my upcoming Braids & Fades EP (coming out soon!) Bump it on your way to the beach, while macking honey-dips, while wearing this, or sweating in your hot ass apartment. Mix link, tracklist and full tour dates after the jump!
This evening (Wed 5/28) you can check out our man Sammy Bananas at the Riverdeck in Philly (417 N. Columbus Blvd – RSVP here) rocking the “Block Party” party with the Philadelphyinz. Good times. If you prefer “buying things” to “nightlife” – hell, maybe like me you enjoy both! – Sammy’s High Top Fades is out now, and it’s sequel, Braids & Fades is on its way, along with thesesnazzy t-shirts.
Check our man Sammy Bananas this Saturday at Savalas in Brooklyn, DJing with Caps of Caps N Jones. Sam will be dropping party favors like “All The Girls” (and joints off his forthcoming Fool’s Gold 12″) since the night also doubles as his birthday celebration. Go easy on the noogies (or don’t).
When we went up to Vancouver for the “Screaming Bloody Murder” tour, Paul Devro posted up an mp3 of Sammy Bananas’ “All The Girls,” a fun lil remix built off NERD’s “Everyone Nose,” on the Mad Decent blog. Download it here for some handy digitized summer fun, and check back for new Sammy joints very soon.
