Ok, so I’m only up here right now to let you know about shows, but I promise to be back soon with another travel food blog post!
Coming up tomorrow is PLAYER’S CLUB (**FREE STOLI**) at Pianos, my new weekly party with Skinny Friedman of the Philadelphyinz. Then its off to Montreal, Ottawa and Winnipeg for the weekend. Oh snap, Facebook events son! Full info and flyers below…
Last month a bunch of the FG fam went out on the road to celebrate the release of our Fool’s Gold Remixed compilation with Scion. And now we finally got all the pics back (save for the Philly date, I blame Andy Reid…) and can share em with you after the jump.
Stay tuned for a limited edition vinyl 12″ of selected tracks from the comp, and look for copies at various Fool’s Gold and Scion events throughout the rest of this year and next. And if you can’t track the CD down, cop the remixes from your favorite digitalretailer. Now onto the recap-ery! Read More
As we continue on… the Scion/FG Fool’s Gold Remixed tour rolls into Philly tonight with Sammy Bananas, Trackademicks, Nacho Lovers and Treasure Fingers rocking the Barbary, and then finishes up in Baltimore on Wednesday with Sammy, Nick Catchdubs, Trackademicks, and Jokers Of The Scene at Ottobar. Both shows are FREE with RSVP! Get your names in and get more info at www.scion.com/avrelease.
We threw our 2nd annual CMJ showcase (and one-year anniversary party!) this past Thursday at Webster Hall in NYC. There was much cake, revelry and tunes from the crew, here’s the photo galleries and related linkery:
My personal highlights include Nacho Lovers playing Circle Children’s “Zulu” while giving Armand a pound, Gant-Man’s epic hypeman skills keeping up with Kid Sister’s set, Dave1’s extra dapper suit, and of course being able to rock with practically the whole FG fam (Nachos, JOTS and Trackademicks stuck around all CMJ weekend so we’ve been handling photo shoots and meetings alongside late night ridiculousness and more food than I’ve ever eaten in my life. Call me Nick Fatdubs). Special shout-out to Scion for sponsoring the show and to Kenny and the whole Webster Hall team for making sure our champagne glasses were filled up.
I’m sitting in the airport in Phoenix, where due to an unfortunate circumstance (I’m an idiot) I’ve arrived 4 hours early for my flight back to NYC. In the meantime, I figured I would share some of the highlights from my recent trip to the southwest, namely, the Mexican food.
NYC get psyched! Continuing our annual tradition, the whole fam touches down in NYC on Thursday, October 23rd for the FOOL’S GOLD CMJ SHOWCASE AND ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY!
Grab your advance tickets here to check out Kid Sister (debuting tracks off her new album Dream Date), A-Trak, Treasure Fingers, Jokers Of The Scene, Trackademicks, Nacho Lovers, Sammy Bananas, and Nick Catchdubs, as well as a special DJ set from Fool’s Gold big bro Dave 1 of Chromeo… and perhaps a special guest or two?!?
Hello from Helsinki! My first Euro tour has been swell so far; I can conclusively report that Scandinavians have great parties and that the hotel breakfasts are off the chain. Extra props to Patski Love & Chris Stallion a.k.a JUICY from Oslo, Even who took me skateboarding in Trondheim and Sampo and Jussi who have been excellent hosts in Helsinki (here’s some video from that show). Today I’m off to London and the second half of the trip, dates and flyers on the MySpace.
Here’s a little treat that my girl Maggie Horn and I cooked up a few days before I left. It’s a cover (not a remix) of the recent T-Pain hit “Can’t Believe It.” We did a pretty loose interpretation (don’t expect Maggie to even TRY that Wayne verse) but we’re both very excited about it.
The cat’s out of the bag, we have a brand new compilation out this October, and it’s free!
Fool’s Gold Remixed is a two-CD behemoth we’re releasing with the good people at Scion Audio/Visual. Disc One features brand-new remixes of Fool’s Gold artists by everyone from Chromeo to Surkin to Jori Hulkkonen, while Disc Two is a “24 Karat Hits” mix by FG co-founder Nick Catchdubs (hi mom) featuring some of our biggest tracks from the past year.
You’ll be able to purchase the remixes from all fine digital retailers starting October 14th, and pick up physical copies for free at various Scion dealerships, parties and sponsored events…including our four-city Fool’s Gold Remixed promo tour, which hits Miami, Atlanta, Philly and Baltimore starting October 21st. The rotating lineup includes Jokers Of The Scene, Treasure Fingers, Trackademicks, Nacho Lovers, Sammy Bananas and Nick Catchdubs, and entry is free with RSVP – check you there! Peep the full CD tracklistings and show info for each city on the tour after the jump. Read More
Well, the big news today is that Braids & Fades is for sale (see below, so pumped about this!) but also new and noteworthy is my upcoming European tour. I set sail next week on my maiden voyage to dj across the Atlantic. But while I’m smashing it up overseas, you all can rock to all the exclusives on this mix I made to promote the trip! Or if you happen to live in Oslo, Trondheim, Helsinki, London or Nottingham, you can get ready to come and see me. Link and tracklisting following el jump.
