Alright so I mentioned a few times that I’ve had some computer woes in the last few weeks. But for superstitious reasons I didn’t want to get too deep into it until I reached some sort of closure. I think I’m at a point now where I can tell my story now. Be afraid, be very afraid. Read More

Here’s another jewel off of Kid Sister’s forthcoming Dream Date LP, a little ditty called “Get Fresh.” Over a slumping, ZZT-flipping beat courtesy of A-Trak and XXXChange, KS drops deft rhymes for the kickers in your Mer-ce-des. Download it for free at RCRD LBL and stay tuned for more. Wamp wamp!
We threw our 2nd annual CMJ showcase (and one-year anniversary party!) this past Thursday at Webster Hall in NYC. There was much cake, revelry and tunes from the crew, here’s the photo galleries and related linkery:
– Driven By Boredom photos (whole show / Kid Sis / Voice selects)
– Last Night’s Party photos
– Behind-the-scenes glamour shots (and Q&As) from Metromix
– Prefix Mag photos (more on Flickr)
– End-of-night foolishness captured by Nicky Digital
– NY Times story on CMJ merch w/ Kid Sis tee
My personal highlights include Nacho Lovers playing Circle Children’s “Zulu” while giving Armand a pound, Gant-Man’s epic hypeman skills keeping up with Kid Sister’s set, Dave1’s extra dapper suit, and of course being able to rock with practically the whole FG fam (Nachos, JOTS and Trackademicks stuck around all CMJ weekend so we’ve been handling photo shoots and meetings alongside late night ridiculousness and more food than I’ve ever eaten in my life. Call me Nick Fatdubs). Special shout-out to Scion for sponsoring the show and to Kenny and the whole Webster Hall team for making sure our champagne glasses were filled up.
My “Around The World” series continues! Read the captivating new entry here.
“Hi, my name is A-Trak and I like to blog.”
I just started a guest blog on Colette’s new site. I’m thinking it will focus more on the zany jetset international-man-of-mystery fashion stuff. Check it out here: http://blogs.colette.fr/a-trak.
Peace & blog.
Don’t miss this week’s installment of my new “Around the World” column over at the Fader blog: Paris at Mehdi & Fafi’s, more mastering in London, shooting the shit with Armand Van Helden and Herve, computer crashes in Rome… it’s all there!
You might have noticed Pete Tong dropping Laidback Luke & A-Trak’s “Shake It Down” on his show last month, and now on his latest show he’s gone and made it an Essential New Tune! Dropped the LBL remix of Treasure Fingers’ “Cross The Dancefloor” in the set as well.
Sure sure it’s on Kitsune but it’s my single goddammit and we put the Fool’s Gold logo on there! So I’m putting this on this-here blog.
Sooooooo I have a track called “Say Whoa”, you probably heard it on my “Running Man” record (or at least on the snippets if your lazy arse didn’t purchase it) and now it’s out as a single! You also get remixes by Sinden (pounding!) and Boys Noize (paranoia-inducing!) and best of all, my very own Kitsune head drawering.
