The yearning vocal and skippy garage drums of “Only You” are assembled by the expert hands of a seemingly unknown producer by the name of Eli Mich. The Netherlands’ Thys is a sonic sorcerer and production paladin who rose to prominence in the dance scene as a member of Noisia, a group renowned for pushing the boundaries of sound design with precise and methodic production. Last year, he released his Eigenwise EP on Fool’s Gold Records, assembling the likes of A-Trak, Chloe Robinson, DJ ADHD, & more. Thys’ solo work has him traveling across space, time, and genre, and on his upcoming Le Thys EP, he explores the sounds of French House music, invoking his own twist. From filtered samples to funky basslines, the first single, “Call Me,” sets the tempo for the project while the artwork –courtesy of New York based artist Eric Hu–serves as a nice aesthetic continuation of the first project.

DJ co.kr & h4rdy – Top Shotta EP

Posted on Mar 14th, 2025 in Releases by Mr. Goldbar

Two of Seoul’s most buzzing DJs, Co.kr and H4rdy, team up for an explosive EP that seems to throw every style of UK club music into a blender, with infectiously fun results. The title track “Top Shotta” features Grime MC Logan_olm, who comes in after a completely unexpected guitar interlude and destroys the track. “Toma” somehow combines speed garage, baile funk, early dubstep and hard house, and it works. On “Serious”, UK MC NyNy rides a tom-heavy track straight into pirate airwaves. And “Check Ma Style” brings an upbeat, Hi-NRG vibe to the party. This whole EP is the result of Co.kr and A-Trak meeting at a gig in Seoul and the spontaneity of the project is palpable all throughout.

South Korea knows how to party! After Co.kr met A-Trak at a gig in Seoul, the two kept in touch, which led to Co.kr creating this EP for Fool’s Gold with his buddy H4rdy. The pair are influenced by UK club music, and they pay homage on “Top Shottas” by featuring the highly respected Logan_olm, but what’s fun is also hearing how they flip the tropes of garage and jungle on their heads and aren’t afraid to have fun.

A-Trak & AJ Christou (ft. Duckwrth) – Sway Remixes

Posted on Dec 13th, 2024 in Releases by Mr. Goldbar

Last Spring, A-Trak teamed up with Manchester native AJ Christou and LA’s Duckwrth for “Sway,” a breezy house tune that gained support from Disclosure, Sarah Story, Claptone and many more. Now, after months of testing these weapons on the club circuit, the boys are ready to unleash a remix pack that is nothing short of nasty. The UK-centric lineup of Mason Collective, Fleur Shore and LiTek takes turns fipping the catchy “Sway” into dancefloor weapons. Mason and Fleur went for a Deep Tech vibe with funky basslines, while LiTek created a bouncy, upbeat groove — clearly everyone was inspired by Duckwrth’s flirty vocal.
