When A-Trak and Dave 1 of Chromeo teamed up as The Brothers Macklovitch, they set out to channel the sounds of their formative years: countless hours spent digging for records and falling in love with music as funk-hungry Montreal teens. The follow up to their debut single “Give Love To Get Some” (and its Waajeed and Morgan Geist remixes) is “I Can Call You” a cover of a little known 1995 gem by the R&B group Portrait, sped up and jazzed up like it came straight from their parents’ basement: with Dave on vocals Trizzy on the cuts.
