Crookers "What Up Y'all" EP Out 10/6 – Free Seiji Remix Download!
Posted on Sep 25th, 2009
Slamming, jacking, sweating, pumping, thumping, EXPLODING… yep, must be Crookers.
The Italian DJ/production duo has been synonymous with all manner of intense dancefloor activity over the past few years, crafting absolutely massive (and massively influential) original tracks, along with remixes for some of the biggest names in pop. The Crookers’ version of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite” snowballed from an underground club must-have to an international smash hit – so we’re obviously, undeniably proud to present this follow-up Fool’s Gold release.
The stacked “What Up Y’all” EP features the first official release of the title track (now properly mixed and mastered, with a shouted hook from Izza Kizza) as well as a hyperactive juke remix of Crookers’ anthem “Knobbers” by DJ Gant-Man, and two incredible takes on the follow-up Cudi collab “Embrace The Martian” courtesy of UK beat maestro Seiji – a crunching, hard-hitting “booty mix” and a squelchy acid version that take the dreamy original to two new heights. Take a listen to the acid mix right now at RCRD LBL.
You can also snag the dub version at Seiji’s blog. Grab these now and brace yourself for whatever the Crooks are cooking up next on their debut LP, coming soon.
Cubic Zirconia Remix Kid Cudi (And Give You A Free EP)
Posted on Sep 17th, 2009
Head over to The Fader blog for Cubic Zirconia’s moody acid remix (or cover? It’s different when you’re a band….) of Kid Cudi’s “Make Her Say.” It’s the fourth in a series of FG commissioned mixes of the tune alongside Afrojack, Nadastrom and Sammy Bananas. There’s one more in the chamber too, but we’re holding on to that one for a sec…
You can also grab the CZ mix in this new zip of tracks from the band that they’re calling the Ready To Slide EP, which also includes a hardcore track (featuring drummer Sammy Siegler from Youth Of Today and a bunch of other NYHC staples – Congorock, you listening?) and a “Moments In Love”-sampling cut that’s become a CZ live staple, along with some other odds n ends.
