The video is out for A-Trak and friends’ psychedelic, parole-violatin’ posse cut. Must THC TV! Roll with Trizzy and friends Jim Jones, Flatbush Zombies, El-P and Flosstradamus (and the spiritual essence of Juicy J) on a particularly smoked out night in NYC. A$AP Mob, World’s Fair and more come along for the ride, Shomi Patwary works the cameras, and the whole thing is appropriately turnt. Get the track and much more on our compilation Loosies, out now!

SPOOKY! In advance of his Fool’s Gold Clubhouse set this Saturday (alongside Craze, JWLS, Codes, Mr MFN Exquire and all the other Camp Bisco maniacs), Nick Catchdubs throws a heaping helping of drums and lazers over Jim Jones’ latest banger. “666 Rackz” is the result, download it now from Catchdini’s Soundcloud.
Before I get to brand new music in this young decade, gotta cleanse the palate of some late, late 2009 favorites in steady rotation over the break thanks to the “All Mix Holiday Weekend” on Hot 97 (which let DJs like Enuff, Camilo, et al dictate their own shows for the most part).
Without fail, the standout sets were always club excursions, ALWAYS with a Jersey shout out, mixing “Percolator” with new tunes like DJ Frosty’s “Ride That Wave” – maybe more on that in another post… – and these midtempo, East Coast rap-n-b breaks, featuring all the tunes after the jump (along with the occasional Jay Elec-yarmulke “Exhibit C”). Last week Fool’s Gold was proud to take part in Converse’s 1st annual “Band Of Ballers” tournament. As player/GM (ha!) I put together a scrappy team including Donnis and soopamanager D Solo, Sammy Bananas, and DJ Jayceeoh. NCAA experience, mustaches, high socks – we had it all. A-Trak suited up like a French Canadian Pat Riley on the sidelines as coach, and we took on the competition with championship swag while Cipha Sounds soundtracked it Miss Info and FG fan Peter Rosenberg did play-by-play. Did I mention there were video girls? Spectacle.
Game 1 was a resounding FG victory against the Mad Decent team, followed by a Game 2 loss to Jim Jones and fam. We still made the semi-finals though, where team FG sweated out a heartbreaker of an overtime loss (the only game to hit sudden death!) to Pac Div. They in turn lost to Jimmy’s team in the finals. Ah well, there’s always the next tourney. We played hard, had fun, and came away with a year’s worth of bragging rights against Diplo. Twitter that!
