Crookers "What Up Y'all" EP Out 10/6 – Free Seiji Remix Download!

Posted on Sep 25th, 2009

Slamming, jacking, sweating, pumping, thumping, EXPLODING… yep, must be Crookers.

The Italian DJ/production duo has been synonymous with all manner of intense dancefloor activity over the past few years, crafting absolutely massive (and massively influential) original tracks, along with remixes for some of the biggest names in pop. The Crookers’ version of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite” snowballed from an underground club must-have to an international smash hit – so we’re obviously, undeniably proud to present this follow-up Fool’s Gold release.

The stacked “What Up Y’all” EP features the first official release of the title track (now properly mixed and mastered, with a shouted hook from Izza Kizza) as well as a hyperactive juke remix of Crookers’ anthem “Knobbers” by DJ Gant-Man, and two incredible takes on the follow-up Cudi collab “Embrace The Martian” courtesy of UK beat maestro Seiji – a crunching, hard-hitting “booty mix” and a squelchy acid version that take the dreamy original to two new heights. Take a listen to the acid mix right now at RCRD LBL.

You can also snag the dub version at Seiji’s blog. Grab these now and brace yourself for whatever the Crooks are cooking up next on their debut LP, coming soon.

Click here to listen to the latest Ministry of Sound radio show from UK production duo Greenmoney (Alex from Bugz In The Attic and big homie Leo from YoYo), featuring all sorts of UK funky house goodies and original productions, including Greenmoney’s remix of DJ Gant-Man’s upcoming Fool’s Gold single “Juke Dat Girl.”

This particular episode also features a guest set from another one of our favorites, Seiji, who rocks FG exclusives of his own with two mixes of Crookers and Kid Cudi’s “Embrace The Martian,” both of which will drop on our Crookers EP out later this spring. Safe!

New Crookers Mix + FG Single Info

Posted on Feb 26th, 2009

The latest edition of the We Make It Good mix series (what up Pretty Titty!) comes courtesy of none other than Crookers, who turn in a blend of Italian jams both old (vintage 45s and tambourine tracks) and new (their own shit) along with bangers from the usual suspects (Rusko, Mujava, Oizo) so basically what we’re saying is you should go check it out here.

There’s a ton of big things coming up this year for the duo, including remixes for megapopstars, sure-to-be-triumphant Coachella and Sonar gigs, and…A FOOL’S GOLD SINGLE! The forthcoming Crooks release will feature a finished version of new track “What Up Y’all” (the leaked demo is already a hit, word to Hype Machine) as well as exclusive remixes of their fan favorites “Knobbers” and “Embrace The Martian” by DJ Gant-Man and Seiji of Bugz In The Attic fame. It’s sounding great so far, and we’re excited to drop it on you fine people next month. Stay tuned!
