Y’all ready for some ravin? This weekend the massive Electric Daisy Carnival pops off in Los Angeles, and of course Fool’s Gold will be helping to put 100,000+ hands in the air.
A-Trak is pulling double duty as part of Travis x A-Trak (Friday) and Duck Sauce (Saturday), and having previewed the stage shows for both, all we can say is: y’all are in for some big surprises! Congorock, LA Riots, Laidback Luke, and more friends will also be doing it big throughout the weekend. Get psyched! More FG festival appearances on deck…
Last month we hit up Miami for yetanother smash Fool’s Gold Winter Music Conference takeover!
Duck Sauce made their triumphant live DJ debut (which New Times named WMC’s best!), DJ Sneak, Just Blaze and (surprise surprise) Laidback Luke rocked guest sets, and the whole FG DJ family put it down like never before all night at brand-new venue Grand Central in downtown Miami. Check some highlights in our wrap-up clip (once again edited by Lizi Gross) and peep a TON of photo galleries – from GC as well as the Fool’s Gold x Mad Decent “Mad Fools” party later that weekend – after the jump. Fresh off a successful WMC run, LA Riots return to the Foolcast with a new mix of new music – some techy, jacking (and seasonally appropriate!) jams for that ass. New tunes from our friends at BNR, Sound Pellegrino, and many more, along with a teaser of the Riots’ new one “Bombah” at the end. Enjoy!

When we got this week’s Beatport mailer listing the top 9 of their “Breakout Stars From The Winter Music Conference,” it was nice to see LA Riots repping alongside Riva Starr, Afrojack and more. Check out their artist page on Beatport and stay tuned for the new LA Riots spring mix premiering on the Foolcast very soon…
Check this handy guide to everywhere the Fool’s Gold family will be rocking on NYE, from dueling Macklo Bros in Los Angeles to the Suzan in Tokyo to Congorock in warm and sunny Toronto. Bring on 2010! MMX is a damn fine Roman numeral. Read More
In more FG overseas action, LA Riots start a quick run of shows tonight. Download their Foolcast mix to get in the mood, and check the teaser video for the Belgium show after the jump. Read More
The latest addition to the FG catalog is Laidback Luke and Lee Mortimer’s club detonator “Blau!” – grab it now on Beatport!
The release comes backed with remixes by our very own Nacho Lovers and LA Riots, as well as techmeister Noob and – with two different versions! – UK pal Doorly. These tunes have quickly become DJ favorites, but don’t take our word for it. Just ask Afrojack: “kicks donkeyboner!!!!”
We threw two parties in NYC to celebrate the label’s 2nd anniversary during this past CMJ fest – if you missed em, you missed out! Fortunately, we scoured the interweb to collect all the photo galleries, etc (hit us up if you have any more).
Check out Karmaloop’s great recap of Night #1 at 88 Palace above, which featured sets by Kingdom, Donnis (joined onstage by fellow ATLien Pill), Treasure Fingers, Sammy Bananas (who even rocked some Telephoned tracks with partner Maggie Horn), Trackademicks and the Honor Roll crew, and – a first for FG! – live band performances by Vega and The Suzan. Hi-Fi Cartel, Metromix, and The Culture Of Me got some pics, Billboard spoke to A-Trak for a video interview, and Beatcakes had a nice little blog post highlighting The Suzan (“probably one of the best shows I have seen in my life”).
For Night #2 we went with an all-DJ lineup at N8 in Brooklyn, featuring Jokers Of The Scene, LA Riots, Nacho Lovers and extended fam Udachi + Jubilee (Jamie from the xx was slated to play as well, but his band’s set ran late – we’ll get him in the mix soon enough!). You can check pics over at Driven By Boredom. Special thanks to Chicago’s own Thunder Horse for providing live projections / bugged visuals for both nights of festivities! See you for the 3-year bash soon…
Although the past few Foolcast mixes have all been loving looks back at music of the past, the latest edition is a freshly recorded collection of current favorites alongside brand new + unreleased remixes from LA Riots.
The guys whipped this up to share with the world before setting off on a two-week Australian tour, giving fans a peek at where the Riots are at these days. Download and bump to this – subscribe to the Foolcast via iTunes or your favorite RSS reader at the main page, where you can also download the mix directly.
