FG took to the high seas once again for the annual Holy Ship!!! mega rave on a boat. Duck Sauce, Chromeo, A-Trak, Flosstradamus, Oliver, RL Grime, Just Blaze, Dillon Francis, Baauer and many more friends and fam partied all weekend from boat to beach and beyond, including the most epic Fool’s Gold Rap Party yet, featuring special guest Pharrell! Watch our official recap vid and see what you missed. (Photo galleries are up on the HS site too!)
Chromeo continue teasing new LP White Women with another track reveal, this time going with the uber-catchy “Come Alive” featuring fellow funkateer Toro Y Moi. Pitchfork premiered the jam this morning, along with a gang of “Come Alive” tour dates for spring, with support by Oliver and Tokimonsta. See ’em all after the jump.
A-Trak and Oliver have long been two of dance music’s absolute coolest. On their latest collab “Zamboni” (out next Tuesday, 12/10) these Fool’s Gold family members drop the tempature (and the bass) even further, crafting an iced-out funkstravaganza of synth squiggles and cut up ’80s drumrolls laid atop one insistent, brain-rattling acid riff. Get in the rink with these party boys and lose control!
Next month Oliver hit the road with fellow California vibe enthusiasts Classixx for the appropriately titled “Disco To Disco” tour. Check out the dates above (including a stop in FG’s own backyard at Slake on 12/21) and get in the mood with Oliver’s Mechanical and Mechanical Remixes EPs and this snazzy Oliver logo tee direct from the FG store (where you can also snag Mechanical on picture disc vinyl). Dancefloor heroes Oliver follow up their finely tuned Mechanical EP with a surprising new remix collection that casts their already-diverse originals in a stunning new light. Kicking off with a stomping, fan favorite mix of “Night Is On My Mind” by festival king Dillon Francis, Mechanical Remixes shifts into even higher gear with Nom De Strip’s big room take on “Control,” before pulling a moody left turn with Tchami’s housey (dare we say jazzy!) version of “MYB,” and closing out strong with a high-NRG remix of “Mechanical” by new young producer Values. Machine music never sounded so good! Get it now on iTunes.
The Fool’s Gold fam returned to Electric Zoo this summer for another day of non stop dancery courtesy of A-Trak, Brodinski and Gesaffelstein, Araabmuzik, Congorock, DJ Sliink, Green Lantern, Just Blaze, Nick Catchdubs, Oliver and RL Grime. Strobes! Screens! Smoke fuggin machines! A party to remember for sure… check out our recap vid above, then peep Nicky Digital’s photo gallery and EZoo’s own Facebook snaps to see more from the day. Some of our favorite snaps after the jump. For more Summer ’13 Clubhouse action, peep our recaps from Electric Forest and the Capitol Hill Block Party. Read More
A whole gang of Fools will be in town this Thursday (10/17) for the AM Only CMJ showcase at Output in Brooklyn! This disco is a family affair: Oliver, Just Blaze, Treasure Fingers, Nick Catchdubs and Codes will be throwing down all night, shine yer shoes and get yer tix!
As premiered by Nylon, Oliver’s after-midnight anthem “Night Is On My Mind” gets an appropriately smoky, laser-fueled music video courtesy of director Greg Brunkalla (the mastermind behind Danny Brown’s “Grown Up.”) Crack a glowstick and strut to this!
Get “NIOMM” and more Oliver jams on their FG EP Mechanical (out now on picture disc vinyl, iTunes, Beatport and all other digital services), check them on tour this fall with Zedd and Alex Metric, and stay tuned for the official Mechanical remix EP, featuring crazy new versions of every song by some of dance music’s best.
The Fool’s Gold Festival Stage kicked off a new year of all-singing, all-dancing partytimes deep in the woods of Michigan. FG’s contribution to the Electric Forest featured A-Trak, Danny Brown, Flosstradamus, Oliver, Just Blaze, Craze, Nick Catchdubs, Treasure Fingers and Party Supplies on the same stage, an all-day display of awesomeness captured in the video above.
