Fool’s Gold Presents: Night Shift

Posted on Mar 8th, 2016

Fool’s Gold redlines into spring with Night Shift, a 17 track compilation, available from all digital retailers on April 1st of new dance music from the label’s latest signings and loudest family members. Since launching in 2007, the beloved Brooklyn indie founded by DJs A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs has pushed hybrid sounds to the forefront of the electronic scene. But Night Shift is the sound of a brand-new model year racing off the FG lot, shinier and heavier than ever.

A-Trak and Ookay’s bass anthem “Only One” races alongside Athletixx’s experimental clubber “PNTHR,” while massive remixes of electro royals Tommy Trash and Alvin Risk ride shotgun with tunes from upstarts KRNE, GEOTHEORY and Madeaux. Rap vocals from Atlanta, house beats from London, synth riffs from planets unknown… Night Shift is an enjoyably motley mix of styles, tempos and attitudes, bound together by a definitive Fool’s Gold aesthetic. Burning rubber never felt so good! Premiered on Pitchfork, listen to “Only One” below and pre-order Night Shift. Tracklist below.

Posted on Feb 10th, 2016

Directed by Nicolas Randall

The turntables might wobble but they don’t fall down… the same can’t be said for A-Trak’s cowgirl friends in the delightfully absurd new video for his hit Jamie Lidell collaboration “We All Fall Down.” Featuring a mechanical bull dance partner, some brave sweethearts of the rodeo, and Trizzy holding court as saloon master of ceremonies, this “WAFD” video is one foot-stomping night out. Watch the video here and order the 7″ vinyl backed with “Jamie’s Version” at store.fgrecs.wpenginepowered.com.

A-Trak feat. Jamie Lidell “We All Fall Down”

Posted on Oct 2nd, 2015

A-Trak’s new single “We All Fall Down” is out today! Featuring vocals from UK soulman Jamie Lidell, “We All Fall Down” transcends dance music’s genres and trends. It’s a welcome blend of throwback attitude (’80s electro soul, ’90s Chicago house, two-stepping Y2K chart toppers), thoroughly modern production, and earworm melodies that feel timeless from the very first listen. Listen to it it now, and get tix for A-Trak’s 12/12 show at Terminal 5 in NYC featuring Araabmuzik and (says Trizzy) “all the tricks and party rocking… the Hawaiian punch of events!”
