Attention aesthetes! We teamed up with Brooklyn Museum to program music for their annual dance party at the 5th Annual Brooklyn Artists Ball fundraising gala. It’s going down Wednesday, April 15 at the Brooklyn Museum, with honorees including retiring museum director Arnold Lehman and contemporary artists Takashi Murakami, Kiki Smith, and the late Jean-Michel Basquiat. FG’s freshest signings – NYC rapper Leaf, Atlanta singer / songwriter BOSCO and Montreal DJ / producer Shash’U – will entertain for the evening, alongside a set from label co-founder Nick Catchdubs. Montreal’s Shash’U has quickly become a force on the beat scene with an inventive, muscular new take on dance music. After making waves with his debut Fool’s Gold EP Thru Da Night earlier this year (an immediate DJ favorite and BBC Radio pick) he delivers an amped up sequel EP today in the form of PWRFNK, slapping futuristic, heavy bass over ’80s-inspired midnight electro.
